The Role:
The Machine Learning Engineering team ensures that our client can effectively deploy cutting-edge, enterprise-level machine learning solutions at scale and within budget. Our clients group develops and manages the infrastructure, tools, and analytical services needed to drive intelligent applications. They're currently looking for a seasoned Machine Learning Engineering Director to lead a dynamic team of skilled ML Engineers.
As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will spearhead advanced analytics implementation to provide actionable communications intelligence for our FinTech and RegTech products. You'll work within a cross-functional agile team, collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, secure, and resilient SaaS products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design complex solutions and integrate software products for high-level challenges.
Serve as a machine learning, fintech, and regtech expert, providing technical leadership and insights.
Evaluate solutions and recommend the best approach.
Partner with Product Management and engineering teams to define and implement features with a focus on quality, scalability, and maintainability.
Simplify complex technical solutions.
Influence Principal Engineers and Product Managers on product designs.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs, performance, security, and scalability issues.
Participate in incident management and proactive issue resolution.
Manage tasks using JIRA.
Engage in code reviews for continuous improvement.
Establish and maintain best practices.
Mentor and coach team members.
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute valuable inputs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
About Our Client:
Our client is a distinguished tech firm specializing in Cognitive Computing and Machine Learning. They excel in providing sophisticated big data analytics solutions tailored for the financial and healthcare sectors.
Ideal candidate
Experience: Candidates must have experience tackling large-scale data problems.
Programming Languages: Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
Domain Expertise: Experience in text analytics is a big plus.
(70% Technical, 30% Management)
Current Team: 5-8 people with AI/ML, Java/Kotlin/Python, Kubernetes, AWS experience.
Technical Skills:
Machine Learning: NLP, LLM, Data Analysis, Processing, Model Evaluation, SageMaker, Notebooks
Development & Infrastructure: Microservices, MLOps (CI/CD, Code Reviews), Containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Observability (Grafana)
Cloud: AWS
Responsibilities:
Hands-on: Lead implementations, collaborate with seniors/architects, troubleshoot production issues.
Collaboration: Work with engineers, manage incidents, address customer issues.
Leadership (Light): Drive initiatives, mentor team, guide technically (SME), product minded.
Additional: Experience with FinOps, Commodore, distributed systems a plus.
Experience in text analytics is a huge plus

A background in Fintech/ Regtech
Deep understanding and experience in software architecture/software engineering.
Strong grasp of continuous software delivery principles.
