Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust SQL database systems to meet evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate with software developers, analysts, and project managers to refine database needs.
- Create and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for efficient data handling and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
- Conduct data modelling and analysis to accurately represent business needs.
- Integrate SQL code into applications in close partnership with development teams.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SQL development.
What You’ll Bring:
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
- Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
- Proven skills in performance tuning and query optimisation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- A proactive approach to learning and staying current with emerging SQL technologies.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with database administration tasks such as backups, recovery, and security.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools.
