Position Overview: 

As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in building and optimising the architecture and infrastructure for scaled data systems, with a focus on supporting educational technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance data pipelines, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of data essential to this digital education platforms. Key Responsibilities:

 

EdTech Data Integration:

- Collaborate with development teams to integrate data solutions into the educational technology ecosystem.

- Design and implement data storage and retrieval solutions for educational content and user data analytics.

 

Data Pipeline Development:

- Develop and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines for processing and analysing educational data.

- Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, ensuring accuracy and consistency in educational datasets.

 

AWS Expertise:

- Leverage AWS services to build and enhance scalable data solutions for educational platforms.

- Utilize AWS data storage, processing, and analytics tools to improve the performance and reliability of the data infrastructure.

 

Python Development:

- Use Python for scripting, data manipulation, and automation tasks to support educational data processes.

- Develop and maintain Python-based tools to optimize data engineering workflows in the EdTech space.

 

Performance Optimization:

- Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow with minimal latency.

- Apply best practices for data storage, indexing, and retrieval to support the growing needs of the EdTech sector.

 

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, ideally in the EdTech or a similarly data-intensive industry.

- Strong proficiency in Python programming.

- Experience with AWS services, including but not limited to S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, and Redshift.

- Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
