The Role

The Senior UI/UX Designer will be involved with the creation of multi-fidelity wireframes & visuals based on artefacts received from other members of the UX team. A key focus will be creating and maintaining an industry leading design system, evangelising, and facilitating pixel perfect implementation in development via the creation of handoff specs and documentation.

In addition, the Senior UI/UX Designer will understand the wider business their projects support and possesses excellent execution skills. They promote standards and best practices for fellow Designers and Developers regularly with minimum oversight beyond high-level direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Create agency-grade visuals for corporate and SAAS software. 
  • Actively participate in the evolving UX/Product team strategy, discovering and piloting new tools and resources. 
  • Ongoing, close collaboration with team members during the sprint including discussions and brainstorming activities as well as pairing with developers on design 
  • Support the team as needed with visual design to help communicate and validate design ideas. 
  • Deliver strong creative ideas with a problem-solving mindset 
  • Keep abreast of current design trends and be able to discern between fads and future standards 
  • Be the leading voice for a cohesive user experience via the consistent use of UI patterns 
  • Inspire teams beyond good usability to user delight by promoting cutting-edge visual design 

 

The Ideal Candidate:

To perform this job successfully, the UI/UX Designer should have experience with: 

  • A portfolio of software design that demonstrates outstanding interaction design skills across multiple devices as well as a thorough understanding of graphic design, page layout and typography. 
  • Creation of style guides and design systems. 
  • Producing a variety of UI deliverables such as iconography, typography, pixel perfect mock-ups, prototypes, animation etc. with a keen sense of when to choose the right tools to communicate the design 
  • Knowledge of Agile UX and Lean UX methodologies and experience working in a collaborative, agile environment alongside UX designers & researchers 
  • Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Framer, Axure or similar tools. 
  • An understanding of Front-End Development, with direct experience optimizing design concepts around current technologies
