Product Analyst

Job description.

My client is a global SaaS company that’s transforming the way teams are managed and communicated with.  A scalable, cloud-based product that will help organisations streamline operations, boost productivity, and drive innovation. 

To continue current growth and enhance their current offerings, my client are looking for an experienced Product Analyst with a background in Software Development to help shape the future of the products and ensure they meet our customers' evolving needs.

The Role:

As a Product Analyst, you will be a vital bridge between the technical and business teams, ensuring the product roadmap is data-driven, customer-focused, and aligned with business goals. Drawing on your software development experience, you will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, define clear product specifications, and drive the development of features that solve real-world problems. You will also monitor the performance of the products post-launch, providing insights to continuously improve and optimise user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Product Development Insight: Leverage your technical background to work closely with product managers and development teams, ensuring that product requirements are clearly defined, feasible, and aligned with the overall technical architecture.

- Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, and internal teams to gather and analyse business and technical requirements, translating them into detailed product specifications.

- Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyse product performance, user feedback, and market trends to inform product decisions and contribute to the product roadmap.

- Feature Prioritization: Help prioritize features and improvements based on customer needs, technical feasibility, and business goals.

- Technical Documentation: Develop clear, comprehensive product documentation, ensuring that both technical and non-technical stakeholders have a deep understanding of product functionality and specifications.

- User Stories & Acceptance Criteria: Create detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives.

- Collaboration with Engineering: Act as a liaison between the product team and the development team, helping to clarify technical requirements, answer questions, and ensure smooth delivery of features.

- Post-Launch Monitoring: Monitor product performance, analyse user engagement, and gather feedback to ensure the product continues to meet customer needs and performs optimally.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for product improvements and optimizations based on user behaviour, feedback, and performance metrics.

Summary Of Skills:

- Technical Expertise: A background in software development or engineering, with a deep understanding of software development processes and technologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, REST APIs, cloud platforms).

- Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends, and apply these insights to product strategy.

- Requirement Gathering: Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to gather and translate business needs into technical requirements.

- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to identify problems, define solutions, and drive those solutions through to completion.

- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail when creating product documentation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

- Collaboration: Experience working in collaborative environments with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver on product goals.

Desirable:

- Experience in the SaaS industry or with cloud-based products.

- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar platforms.

- Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles and best practices.
