My client is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to join their Market Insights team, making a significant contribution to their Data Engineering practice. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with the product team to identify and address challenges through advanced data science techniques.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and data architects to design and train robust data models for downstream applications.
- Data Transformation: Extract, cleanse, and transform raw data into actionable business insights, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to stakeholders.
- Advanced Techniques: Utilise statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and advanced programming to uncover trends and insights in complex datasets.
- Effective Communication: Present findings to stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable insights that drive decision-making.
- Data Quality Advocacy: Promote high data quality and usability throughout the organisation, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
- Documentation & Accessibility: Ensure the availability, quality, and searchability of data and its documentation.
- Coding Excellence: Write and maintain clear, efficient SQL and Python code, incorporating best practices and thorough test implementation.
- Automation & Monitoring: Automate model testing and monitor quality to ensure the smooth running of data pipelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Work with the team to enhance the data pipeline, promoting engineering best practices and inspiring others.
Your Profile:
- Technical Expertise: Mastery of SQL and Python, with hands-on experience in a data science context.
- Model Building Experience: Proven ability to construct models that solve complex business challenges.
- Project Management Skills: Able to break down complex projects into manageable work packages.
- Data Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiar with data warehousing tools such as BigQuery.
- Cloud & Orchestration Expertise: Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Cloud Composer, Dataform) and cloud environments like GCP.
- Versatility: Proficient with containerisation solutions and source control tools such as Git.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex findings clearly and effectively.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with recommender systems and AB testing/hypothesis testing.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker) and success tracking (e.g., Google Analytics).
- Understanding of data warehouse design patterns and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOX).
