Intermediate Java Developer – Hybrid (Ballymena)
My client, a forward-thinking digital consultancy based in Ballymena, is looking for an Intermediate Java Developer to join their growing team.
You’ll be part of a tight-knit, tech-driven crew working on a wide range of impactful projects, from intelligent data platforms and mobile applications to custom software solutions that solve real business problems. What you'll be doing:
- Building and maintaining Java applications using Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and the wider Spring ecosystem.
- Working closely with talented designers, analysts, and developers to bring ideas to life.
- Designing and fine-tuning databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) to ensure performance and reliability.
- Writing RESTful APIs and working with JSON to power fast, responsive web services.
- Using Git for version control and ensuring code quality through reviews, testing, and debugging.
- Keeping up to speed with emerging tools and techniques to improve how things are done.
What you’ll need:
- Commercial Java development experience, particularly with Spring Boot.
- Solid grasp of OOP principles, microservices architecture, and clean code practices.
- Comfortable working with relational databases and crafting efficient queries.
- Bonus points for some exposure to front-end basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- A team player with good communication skills and a keen eye for problem-solving.
