Senior Performance Engineer – Fully Remote

 

The Opportunity
Ocho is partnering with a fast-growing, product-led client to find a Performance Engineer to establish and scale a dedicated performance testing function. This is a hands-on role with scope to define strategy, shape tooling, and work across engineering, DevOps, and TechOps to ensure scalability and quality at every level of the application stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver a company-wide performance testing strategy, including load, stress, and soak testing
  • Design and implement replica performance environments across cloud and on-prem infrastructure
  • Guide performance tooling, test data, and traffic modelling using tools like JMeter & K6
  • Work closely with engineering teams to embed shift-left performance practices early in the SDLC

Essential Experience

  • 5+ years in performance testing
  • Hands-on with tools such as JMeter, Blazemeter, K6, Cloudflare, and Kibana
  • Proven experience testing web apps, APIs, and RDBMS systems (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL)
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps and CI/CD workflows
  • Confident working across engineering and senior leadership to influence strategy and delivery
