IT Project Manager (Infrastructure & Cyber Security)
A permanent, hands-on delivery role running medium to large-scale infrastructure and cyber security projects for a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, based in County Down, paying £45,000 to £55,000 DOE.
About the Company
Our client is a long-established veterinary pharmaceutical company and one of Northern Ireland's leading employers. They develop and manufacture medicines for markets in more than 100 countries. They invest heavily in R&D and launch new products every year, and that growth needs a secure, resilient IT estate underneath it. They are adding an IT Project Manager with an infrastructure and cyber security focus to deliver that work.
The Role
You will run IT projects from start to finish. Some will be single projects in the £250k to £500k range, others a portfolio of smaller projects under £50k each. The work covers infrastructure and security change across a regulated manufacturing business. You will set the goals, direct the project team, manage third party providers and keep senior stakeholders informed. All of it happens within GxP standards, so every project has to deliver its business benefits on time and on budget, and pass audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, control and closure.
- Manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, resourcing, communication, risk and procurement on every assigned project.
- Establish governance processes that let the business monitor and control delivery.
- Manage project budgets, identify funding sources and control costs against plan.
- Identify, monitor and control interdependencies between activities, deliverables and projects outside your own boundaries.
- Proactively identify, manage and escalate risks and issues.
- Work with third party IT service providers, including contracting and supplier management.
- Report progress to stakeholders at all levels and act on their feedback.
- Deliver all work in line with GxP requirements (GMP, GLP, GCP and GPvP) and the relevant SOPs.
What You'll Need
- Experience managing IT infrastructure and/or cyber security projects is essential, and it is the single most important thing we are looking for.
- Around 5 years' experience across multiple IT areas, including 2 to 3 years in project management, is essential.
- Experience using a recognised project management methodology such as PRINCE2 or PMI is essential.
- Experience managing projects in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is essential.
- Experience working with and contracting third party IT service providers is essential.
- Confident communication with senior managers and with technical and non-technical audiences is essential, along with good proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and SharePoint.
- A degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security or a related subject is desirable, though equivalent work experience is equally valued.
- A formal project management certification (PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
- Experience working with the NIST or ISO27001 information security frameworks is a strong advantage.
- Experience working in a regulated environment is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud and on-prem server platforms, Active Directory, firewalls, WAN, SD-LAN, WLAN, SIEM, DSPM and end user device management is desirable.
- Knowledge of CRM, SCM, ERP, MES or LIMS systems is desirable.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desirable.
