Working in AWS with strong SQL and Python skills, this role suits an engineer who takes pride in building reliable, well-governed data infrastructure at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain ETL and ELT ingestion and transformation pipelines across Claims, Account, Broker and Submissions domains
  • Implement data egress patterns, APIs and metadata services to enable reliable access for global reporting and consuming teams
  • Contribute to data modelling and integration work to ensure standardised structures across domains
  • Support lightweight React frontend contributions for data discovery and operational tooling
  • Collaborate on cloud architecture and platform engineering tasks in AWS including automation, CI/CD and observability instrumentation
  • Work with consuming teams to reduce bottlenecks and improve data accessibility through automation
  • Contribute to data governance, controls and the correct use of the data lake across informational and operational data

What You'll Need

Essential:

  • Hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience
  • Strong Python skills including tooling and packaging
  • Strong SQL knowledge with proven experience in data querying and manipulation
  • Proven experience designing and implementing ETL and ELT pipelines
  • Experience with Redshift, Snowflake or both
  • UK work authorisation

Desirable:

  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Familiarity with observability tools including logging, monitoring and tracing
  • Experience with data modelling and metadata tooling
  • Experience with API design and implementation
  • React frontend development skills

Why Apply?

  • Salary of £40,000 to £45,000
  • Work on a globally significant data platform across multiple high-value business domains
  • Collaborative, engineering-led team with a clear mission and strong technical standards
  • Hybrid working within a business investing seriously in cloud-native data infrastructure
  • Varied role spanning pipeline engineering, API development, data modelling and frontend contribution
