The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role plays a key part in the day-to-day running of the finance function, taking ownership of financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end processes while supporting the wider team on budgeting, forecasting and compliance. It's a genuinely hands-on role for someone who enjoys the detail of financial control as much as the bigger picture of supporting a growing manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
● Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
● Own balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the integrity of financial ledgers
● Assist with the month-end and year-end close process
● Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
● Assist with the annual statutory audit, liaising with external auditors
● Support VAT and other compliance returns
● Contribute to process improvement across financial systems and controls
● Provide financial analysis and commentary to support commercial decision-making
What You'll Need
Essential:
● Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
● Experience preparing management accounts and supporting month-end processes
● Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
● Comfortable working to deadlines within a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
● Experience within a manufacturing environment
● Experience with ERP or integrated financial systems
