About the Company

Our client is a next-generation cloud security platform that uses runtime context to identify and prioritise the risks that matter most.

Powered by eBPF-based sensors, their platform delivers agentless cloud posture discovery, real-time threat protection and integrated API security, built around cost-effective, end-to-end protection for modern cloud infrastructure.

They're a fast-growing, ambitious company building a security organisation from the ground up in the UK.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to become the founding UK member of the Security organisation, working within the MDR (Managed Detection and Response) team.

You'll bring deep, hands-on cloud security expertise to proactive customer reviews and advanced investigations, working closely with Security Analysts, Researchers and Backend engineers to sharpen detection quality.

You'll independently own UK-hours coverage, take ownership of complex and critical incidents escalated from Tier 1/2, and get involved in customer-facing conversations where staying calm under pressure matters.

As the UK presence grows, there's a clear path toward technical or team leadership for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

Fine-tune detection and response mechanisms to improve accuracy and reduce noise

Lead proactive reviews of customer environments to identify risks and exposed attack surfaces

Conduct in-depth security investigations across supply chain, API, malware and runtime attack scenarios

Document investigation outcomes and build playbooks to strengthen future detection and response

Collaborate with Security Analysts, Research and Backend teams to improve detection quality

Own complex or critical incidents escalated from Tier 1/2, including live customer engagements

Lead recurring customer meetings, translating security findings into clear, actionable recommendations

Stay ahead of emerging threats, attack techniques and cloud security best practices

Contribute to the development and training of AI-driven detection models

What You'll Need

Essential:

Solid, hands-on experience in cybersecurity, ideally gained at a leading cloud or cloud security company

Strong working knowledge of detection engineering, incident response and threat analysis, with the ability to explain attack techniques such as supply chain, API, malware and runtime in depth

Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure)

Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)

        Comfortable and hands-on with Linux

Familiarity with networking fundamentals and scripting (Python/Bash)

Strong communication and presentation skills, with proven ability to engage directly with customers and stay composed under pressure

Self-directed, comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment

Already based in Northern Ireland (visa sponsorship is not available for this role)

Willingness to participate in a shared on-call rotation, including availability during nights, weekends or holidays during rotation weeks

Desirable / Nice to Have:

        Windows knowledge

B.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Security

Why Apply?
