It is a genuinely small, close knit team where every hire has real impact.The Role and What It Can Do For Your CareerThis is a hands on, delivery focused leadership role at the heart of the business. You will lead the engineering team day to day, running 1:1s, setting performance expectations, hiring and developing people, while remaining close enough to the work to contribute to technical decisions, guide architecture and support code reviews. AI first engineering is central to how the team works, and you will be expected to lead by example, using AI agents to build software, review pull requests with judgement and set the standard for the rest of the team. You will be the most senior engineering voice in the building, working closely with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team to translate business priorities into engineering delivery. The Role
This is a rare opportunity to become the founding UK member of the Security organisation, working within the MDR (Managed Detection and Response) team.
You'll bring deep, hands-on cloud security expertise to proactive customer reviews and advanced investigations, working closely with Security Analysts, Researchers and Backend engineers to sharpen detection quality.
You'll independently own UK-hours coverage, take ownership of complex and critical incidents escalated from Tier 1/2, and get involved in customer-facing conversations where staying calm under pressure matters.
As the UK presence grows, there's a clear path toward technical or team leadership for the right person.

Key Responsibilities
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fine-tune detection and response mechanisms to improve accuracy and reduce noise
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lead proactive reviews of customer environments to identify risks and exposed attack surfaces
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Conduct in-depth security investigations across supply chain, API, malware and runtime attack scenarios
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Document investigation outcomes and build playbooks to strengthen future detection and response
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Collaborate with Security Analysts, Research and Backend teams to improve detection quality

What You'll Need
Essential:
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Solid, hands-on experience in cybersecurity, ideally gained at a leading cloud or cloud security company
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Strong working knowledge of detection engineering, incident response and threat analysis, with the ability to explain attack techniques such as supply chain, API, malware and runtime in depth
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure)
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Comfortable and hands-on with Linux
&bull;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Familiarity with networking fundamentals and scripting (Python/Bash)
