The Role
As a Market Operations Specialist, you will be a first-line owner of market integrity — providing real-time support to clients and internal stakeholders, monitoring system stability, and ensuring the trading environment remains fair and orderly at all times.
This is a high-visibility, high-accountability role. You will work directly with FCMs, clearing banks, engineers, product managers, and executive leadership to diagnose and resolve mission-critical issues under time pressure. You'll also own key operational processes including settlement oversight, reconciliation, and clearing lifecycle management, as well as building automation scripts and maintaining technical documentation for market participants.
This role suits someone who is resourceful and methodical, thrives on complex technical challenges, and is comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise across trading systems, market functionality, order types, and external interfaces
- Provide technical and non-technical support to market participants including FCMs, clearing banks, and industry partners — resolving issues related to market access, trading, clearing, and data services
- Synthesise user feedback and manage communications when escalating critical system issues to the engineering team
- Monitor system integrity and maintain control of the live trading environment
- Maintain listed event contracts, ensuring accurate product specifications, trading parameters, and settlement terms
- Design, build, and maintain automation scripts used by the Market Operations team
- Maintain and enhance user-facing technical documentation including FIX Specifications and Connectivity Guides
- Perform log analysis and packet capture review to diagnose latency, execution, and trade integrity issues
- Oversee the daily settlement process for cleared transactions, including cash movements and payment instructions
- Perform reconciliations across trade executions, cash collateral, and contract settlements — promptly resolving any breaks
- Manage the end-to-end clearing lifecycle including position maintenance, collateral management, and delivery processing
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology Operations, Product, Sales, Compliance, and Regulation teams
