About the Company
Our client is an established global technology company that builds data driven software and hardware products for major industrial sectors. Operating in more than 20 countries, they are known for high quality engineering and for solving difficult problems for their customers. Their Belfast based product team is now building a new SaaS platform and needs an experienced UX Designer to help bring it to life.
The Role
You will join a cross functional product team made up of Product Owners, Product Management, Developers and QA, working in an agile, sprint based environment. Your days will start with stand up, then move into Figma, iterating on wireframes, prototypes and high fidelity designs from user stories and stakeholder feedback. You will work hand in hand with Product Owners to break epics down into clear design tasks, giving the development team actionable, user focused inputs to build against. This role suits a hands on, pragmatic designer who is comfortable owning their work and can make an impact quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Design wireframes, prototypes and high fidelity interfaces in Figma
- Partner with Product Owners to break epics down into actionable design tasks and phases
- Shape the product backlog with clear, user focused design requirements
- Map and refine user journeys so every interaction is intuitive
- Contribute to the design system and component library as the product scales
- Work closely with developers to provide design specs and review front end builds
- Validate design decisions through quick usability tests and analytics
- Take part in stand ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning and design reviews
- Document design decisions to keep the wider team aligned
What You'll Need
Essential:
- 3+ years' experience in UX or UI design, ideally on SaaS, B2B or enterprise products
- Advanced Figma skills for wireframing, prototyping and collaboration
- Experience working closely with Product Owners and Developers in agile or scrum teams
- Experience contributing to and maintaining a product backlog
- A strong portfolio showing how you turn complex requirements into clear user flows and interfaces
- Solid grasp of user centred design, usability, accessibility and responsive design
- Based in Northern Ireland and able to work from the Belfast office 2 days per week
Desirable / Nice to Have:
- Experience with design systems, PrimeVue or Plotly
- Basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript knowledge
- Experience designing data heavy products or dashboards for industrial users
