Job Title
Contract Backend Engineer (.NET)

Overview
Ocho is supporting a Belfast-based technology team as they expand a critical engineering function focused on modernising and enhancing a suite of enterprise platforms.

They are looking for a Contract Backend Engineer with strong .NET experience to help deliver scalable services and backend components across a fast-moving product environment. You'll join an established Agile team working on highly transactional systems with a strong focus on reliability, performance and clean engineering practices.

This is a largely remote contract with occasional in-person collaboration required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance backend services using C# and .NET
  • Develop APIs and integrations across distributed systems
  • Work closely with engineers, QA and product teams to deliver new functionality
  • Improve application performance, scalability and reliability
  • Contribute to technical discussions and solution design
  • Support best practices across testing, code quality and deployment

Person We Are Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Understanding of scalable system design and modern software architecture
  • Exposure to cloud-hosted environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable contributing within Agile engineering teams

Contract Details

  • Outside IR35
  • Initial 8-month contract
  • Belfast-based organisation
  • Mostly remote with occasional office collaboration
  • Competitive daily rate available
