Senior Frontend Engineer ( NEW )

Job description.

Senior Frontend Engineer - React + AWS

Location: Belfast (Remote, UK-based)
Reference: OCHO-SFE0425
OCHO - Building Teams

The Opportunity

We're partnered with a fast-moving, product-led tech company headquartered in Belfast, building large-scale workflow solutions for some of the world's biggest enterprises. Their engineering culture is highly collaborative, modular, and cloud-native - and they're now hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to take ownership of key UI initiatives across their modern platform.

This is a role for an engineer who thrives in TypeScript ecosystems, understands the principles of cloud-first software, and is motivated by clean, scalable frontend architecture. You'll be contributing across the full engineering lifecycle - not just shipping UIs, but helping shape how the platform operates end-to-end.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the design and development of React-based applications (Hooks, Context, TypeScript) within a monorepo environment

  • Building scalable frontend solutions integrated with AWS services and serverless APIs

  • Championing frontend code quality, performance, accessibility, and reusability - including component libraries (e.g. Storybook)

  • Mentoring engineers and guiding best practices in testing (Jest, Cypress), CI/CD, and frontend observability

  • Collaborating with platform teams on core decisions around authentication, analytics, real-time events, and PWA optimisation

  • Working closely with DevOps and backend engineers in a CI/CD-driven environment (GitHub Actions, Terraform, ArgoCD, etc.)

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of commercial software experience, including delivering React + TypeScript at scale

  • Strong architectural background - you've built or scaled monorepos, component libraries, or complex frontend systems

  • Hands-on experience with AWS - ideally Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, and S3

  • DevOps-aware mindset with experience in CI/CD, performance tuning, and deployment workflows

  • A collaborative, mentoring approach with proven success in cross-functional teams

  • Bonus: exposure to NestJS, Next.js, GraphQL, WebSockets, or mobile/PWA delivery

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary + performance bonus

  • 25 days annual leave + public holidays

  • Remote-first working with flexible hours

  • 10% employer and 10% individual pension contribution

  • Health and wellness programme

  • Tech talks, team meetups, and L&D budget

  • Clear career progression framework
