Software Team Lead

Job description.

Software Developer Team Lead - Shape the Future of Internal Systems

Are you an experienced developer ready to lead a small team and make a big impact?

Want to step into a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide projects from concept to delivery?

Looking for that rare balance of technical challenge, work-life harmony, and career growth?

The Role

This is a perfect fit if you're a natural mentor who still loves to code.
You'll lead a small, high-performing development team delivering internal systems, partner portals, and websites that keep the business running like clockwork.

Expect a mix of hands-on development, people management, and architectural decision-making - all in a collaborative, friendly environment.

No legacy red tape here. Just greenfield projects, clean code, and autonomy to do things the right way.

What's In It For You?

  • £50,000 - £60,000 salary
  • 4-day work week (no drop in pay) after probation
  • 30 days annual leave (including stats)
  • First 6 months: 5 days in office (Newry) | After that: hybrid flexibility
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Pension + free onsite parking
  • Brilliant team, real impact, zero micromanagement

Tech Stack & Skills

We're looking for someone with:

  • 8+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong background in .NET: C#, VB.NET, WPF (MVVM), ASP.NET, LINQ
  • Experience working with SQL Server, T-SQL, XML, JSON
  • Proven ability to guide projects and people
  • Confident in managing codebases, processes, and team members alike

If you've worked in small, agile teams before and love being close to the code while setting the direction - this is for you.

About You

You're the right match if you:

  • Are a natural team leader who leads by example
  • Love writing clean, efficient, well-documented code
  • Get a buzz from mentoring others and improving systems
  • Can confidently engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Are hands-on, organised, and never shy away from a challenge

What's It Like to Work Here?

This is one of the few places where people join and stay.
The team has built a reputation for being tight-knit, forward-thinking, and genuinely supportive.
Leadership trusts their developers, and everyone has the freedom to deliver great work without unnecessary red tape.
If you're looking for a tech role with strong values, a proper work-life balance, and the chance to shape something meaningful - you've just found it.
