SQL Developer - Contractor
Location: Hybrid, 1 day/week in office (Lisburn, Northern Ireland)
Contract Length: Initial 3 months, potential to extend
Start Date: ASAP
Day Rate: £350-£450/day
Project Overview:
We are seeking one or two experienced SQL Developers to support a critical data migration project, integrating two systems. The work involves migrating complex data from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2022, using a combination of SSIS packages and stored procedures.
The aim is to deliver a reusable, efficient solution with minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with SQL developers, .NET developers, and project managers to deliver a seamless migration
Build and optimise SSIS packages for data integration and transfer
Modify and enhance stored procedures to handle complex migration scenarios
Conduct performance tuning to improve data transfer speed and reliability
Troubleshoot and resolve data issues during the migration lifecycle
Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
Produce clear documentation of migration processes for future reference and compliance
Required Skills & Experience:
Advanced T-SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, triggers)
Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2012 and 2022 (design, development, administration)
Hands-on experience developing and managing SSIS packages
Proficient in database performance tuning (indexing, resource optimisation)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communicator and collaborative team player
Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability
