Job Title: Senior Frontend Engineer
Location: Belfast (Hybrid - 3 days per week in office)
Salary: Up to £65,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent

Overview:
We're partnered with a global financial technology firm that is expanding its engineering presence in Belfast. They're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their growing team, helping design and build the next generation of data and trading platforms used by clients and internal users across international markets.

You'll work as part of a cross-functional Agile team, collaborating with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to deliver performant, scalable, and elegant web applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Build high-quality, maintainable frontend applications using modern frameworks (React, TypeScript)

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and product owners to deliver responsive, user-friendly interfaces

  • Contribute to the evolution of the frontend architecture and shared component libraries

  • Integrate with APIs and work alongside backend engineers to ensure seamless data handling

  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies

  • Help mentor junior developers and promote frontend best practices

Required Experience:

  • Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)

  • Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design

  • Experience working with design systems and frontend testing frameworks

  • Proven track record consuming REST APIs in production environments

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery environments

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in regulated industries such as finance or insurance

  • Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, or real-time data interfaces

  • Exposure to backend or full-stack work is an advantage
