Embedded C Software Engineer - 6-12 month contract - Augmented Reality - Belfast

The Role:
This is a contract position working on an AR glasses project. You'll focus on embedded C code optimisation, specifically minimising code size for integration into constrained environments. This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep expertise in embedded systems and code refactoring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Optimise embedded C code for size to fit strict memory constraints
* Refactor and maintain system-level embedded code
* Collaborate with engineers to implement Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3 codec) integration
* Test and verify system behaviour using internal performance and quality metrics
Essential Criteria:
* Proven commercial experience in embedded C development
* Strong background in code size optimisation and refactoring
* Familiarity with Bluetooth LE, LC3, or low-level codec implementation
* Embedded systems or consumer electronics background
* Available immediately or within 2-4 weeks
Nice to Have:
* Prior experience in AR, wearables, or constrained device development
* Exposure to telecoms, protocol stacks, or low-level driver development
* Experience working with development boards and debugging toolchains
