Oracle Database Administrator - Remote (Northern Ireland)
Ocho is hiring on behalf of a long-standing consultancy partner delivering complex technology solutions across the UK and Ireland's public sector. We're looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join a dynamic and collaborative team focused on driving innovation in data infrastructure for enterprise-level environments.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong Oracle DBA seeking to grow their skills in cloud migrations, high availability solutions, and modern infrastructure projects. You'll work remotely within a supportive environment that values initiative and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement and support Oracle Database environments (versions 11g and above)
Lead performance tuning, query optimisation and proactive system monitoring
Administer and support Oracle Fusion Middleware (WebLogic) with Oracle Forms and Reports
Contribute to cloud migration projects (experience with OCI and AWS RDS highly desirable)
Support the implementation and optimisation of Exadata environments (on-prem, cloud, or hybrid)
Deliver end-to-end migration projects, including planning, documentation, testing and deployment
Ensure robust backup and recovery processes, job scheduling and ongoing database health
Engage with a range of tools and platforms including Oracle APEX, RAC, GoldenGate, ODI and Red Hat Linux
Experience Required:
Solid experience supporting and managing Oracle databases in complex environments
Strong understanding of tuning, optimisation and capacity planning
Familiarity with middleware technologies and integration tools
Experience migrating to modern cloud-based or hybrid database platforms
Confident in delivering full migration lifecycle, from analysis to production deployment
Exposure to third-party monitoring and backup solutions beneficial
Additional Details:
Fully remote role, limited travel if any
Candidates must reside in Northern Ireland
Salary up to £80,000 plus bonus
